How to Prepare for Class Registration

  1. Using your G. E. check sheet, check off the courses you are taking or have already completed.
  2. Select courses from the following two categories:
    1. G. E. requirements you have not already met;
    2. Required courses for your (possible) major.  For major requirements, see the Undergraduate Bulletin under the specific major that you are interested in.
  3. Once you have the general categories of courses you need (e.g., lower division history), then consult the Schedule of Classes to see what is available.  Note that the Schedule now includes pre-formatted searches for open classes in specific G.E. requirements.. Choose from among those open courses the particular classes and sections that best meet your individual needs (academic interest, instructor, time, etc.). Prepare this initial list, and make sure that you include the telephone registration codes in your list.
  4. Develop a list of alternative classes in case any of the classes you want are closed before you register. Again, include the telephone codes.
